Dreaming with Special Effects

The X-Men are my favorite band of superheroes, and I have had a surprising number of dreams involving them over the years, but one of them stands out more than others because of the cinematography and soundtrack.

I was in the woods with Wolverine, and we were running from someone. He doubled back and managed to evade capture, but they were on me. I ran from them and eventually was able to leap and climb onto the top of a tree stump that probably stood 10 feet tall. I briefly mocked them before I realized that they, too, were beginning to leap high enough to reach the edge and that it would only be a matter of time before they were able to get to me.

So, I stood on one side of the wide stump and with just one stride, jumped into the air toward another higher stump that was at least 10 feet away. As I soared through the air, the camera zoomed back and I was able to see myself flying in slow motion as epic music played. As I flew through the air, my body twisted and I transformed into a beautiful big cat.

I landed gracefully on the other tree stump in time to watch my enemies successfully mount the other one and in their confusion, I was able to slip back down to the ground and evade them. Although I can remember other dreams in which I was able to see myself, I don't remember any others that also went in slow motion and had amazing music that fit the moment perfectly.

If this happened in all of my dreams.... I would be thrilled beyond belief.
